Exotic Christmas treat: cinnamon stars with delicious acai sugar glaze
- Working time: 1 1/2 hours
- Servings: approx. 40 stars
- Accessories: bowl, sieve, star cookie cutter, baking tray, baking paper, brush for the icing
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 100 g ground hazelnuts
- 75 g ground almonds
- 60g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons water
Glaze:
- 30g powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp organic acai powder
1st step:
Place the ground almonds, hazelnuts, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. Sift and add the powdered sugar. Now add the water and work into a sticky dough.
2nd step:
Form the dough into a ball and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 200°C top and bottom heat
3rd step:
Roll out the dough to a height of approx. 0.5 cm.
TIP: Roll out the dough between two pieces of cling film or silicone mats. Then it won't stick to the rolling pin.
4th step:
Cut out the cookies using a star cookie cutter and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
5th step:
Bake the cookies for 6-7 minutes. The edges should brown slightly and become crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
6- Step:
Prepare the acai sugar glaze. Mix the powdered sugar with 1 1/2 tablespoons of water and 1 teaspoon of acai powder to form a smooth icing. Now brush the cooled cookies with the glaze. Sprinkle with a little acai powder if desired. Allow to dry thoroughly and then place in a container for storage.
TIP: You can store these cookies like this for up to 4 weeks.
